A 26-year-old Nepalese man was seriously injured when falling approximately 40 meters from a cliff on Rua Ponta da Cruz near Centromar in Funchal. The alarm was raised around 3:40 am, prompting the Madeiran Volunteer Firefighters to respond with 11 members and multiple vehicles, including an ambulance and a mountain rescue vehicle.

Young Man Suffers Serious Injuries

The 26-year-old was found with suspected fractures in his legs and arms, an open fracture in one upper limb, and possible head trauma. He received immediate medical attention from firefighters and was transported to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital accompanied by the Rapid Intervention Medical Team (EMIR). Unconfirmed claims on social media reports that the incident might have been a suicide attempt.
