Immediate Recruitment to Support Health Care
This Tuesday, SESARAM welcomed 30 newly hired nurses who started their roles immediately. The announcement comes at a critical time when hospitals in Madeira are facing significant strain, struggling to accommodate new patients due to a shortage of available beds.
These professionals are essential for providing direct care to patients, working in various areas, and significantly contributing to improving patients' quality of life and the overall efficiency of the healthcare system.
Largest Professional Group in Madeira’s Health System
Nurses are the largest professional group within Madeira’s Regional Health Service (SESARAM), which employs over 2,000 nurses, including more than 500 specialists. These professionals are key to ensuring high-quality health care for both residents and visitors to the region.
Ongoing Recruitment for More Nurses
In addition to the recent hires, SESARAM is conducting a recruitment process to hire 80 more nurses. Announced on January 17, this initiative will bring the total number of new nurse hires to over 700 between 2015 and 2025. This effort reflects the government’s commitment to addressing the growing demands of Madeira’s healthcare system.
