Aerobus Ticket Prices Rise Amid Plans for All-Inclusive Tourist Pass

Aerobus ticket prices went up slightly, as plans for the introduction of an all-inclusive tourist pass have been announced.

Aerobus Ticket Prices Increased by 40 Cents

Aerobus fares on the Aerobus Madeira Airport to Funchal route have increased by 40 cents, bringing the cost of a standard adult ticket to €6.40 (one way). Around 12 months ago, tickets had been increased from €5.00 to €6.00. Tickets for Children also saw a smaller increase, rising by 20 cents to €3.20. CAM, the company running the Aerobus service, attributed the increase to higher operating costs. While this increase appears insignificant, consider bringing change when taking the Aerobus.

Higher Fares Are Competitive And Won't Lower Demand

Paulo Pereira, CAM’s director, believes the increase won’t reduce the number of passengers. “We’re confident demand will remain steady,” Pereira stated, pointing out that Aerobus fares remain competitive. The increase comes after a government order to adjust local public transport rates.
