AirBaltic Connects Madeira With Riga From October

AirBaltic - the flag carrier of Latvia - introduces a new route linking Madeira and Riga. The airline offers three weekly direct flights, starting October 28, 2024.

AirBaltic Starts Business In Madeira

After the low-cost carrier Play Airlines recently announced direct flights from Madeira to Iceland, AirBaltic, the Latvian state airline, also announces that it will be flying to Madeira next winter. AirBaltic will serve a new route connecting Madeira and Riga, Latvia, beginning October 28, 2024. This marks the airline's first regular flights to and from Madeira Airport (FNC). The service will operate three times a week, with prices starting at €205 per person (economy) and €429 in business class.

Excitement About The New Route

Thomas Ramdahl, airBaltic's Senior Vice President of Network Management, expressed excitement about the new route, emphasizing the potential it holds for travelers to experience both Madeira and the vibrant city of Riga. Francisco Pita, Chief Commercial Officer of ANA - Airports of Portugal, sees this as strengthening Madeira's position as a year-round tourist destination and reflects ongoing efforts to enhance regional connectivity.

AirBalticFlys Three Times Per Week

The flights between Madeira and Riga will be operated by an Airbus A220-300, known for its passenger comfort and fuel efficiency. AirBaltic, based in Riga, will fly three times a week, offering both economy and business class. Overall, AirBaltic operates 130 routes from Riga and other Baltic cities like Tallinn and Vilnius, as well as seasonal flights from Tampere, Finland, and Gran Canaria, Spain, to destinations across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus.
