Brussels Airlines Announces New Direct Connection to Madeira

Brussels Airlines unveils a new summer route to Madeira, offering weekly direct flights from the European capital starting April 2025

Weekly Flights from Brussels to Madeira Begins April 2025

Brussels Airlines has announced a direct flight route to Madeira, starting in April 2025. The weekly service will operate on Saturdays, departing Brussels at 15:20 and arriving in Funchal, Madeira, at 18:30. Return flights will leave Madeira at 20:00, landing in Brussels at midnight. The route will be served by the airline’s Airbus A320neo fleet, known for its fuel efficiency and reduced environmental impact.

Expanded Southern European Network for Summer 2025

The new Madeira route is part of Brussels Airlines’ enhanced summer schedule, which focuses on Southern Europe. The airline is increasing capacity to Portugal, adding frequencies to Faro and Porto alongside its year-round Lisbon service. In Spain, it will operate flights to 15 destinations, continuing its Fuerteventura service and boosting connections to Málaga, Barcelona, Valencia, and Madrid.

In total, across the short and medium-haul network, Brussels Airlines will offer flights to 71 destinations and offer 18% more capacity compared to summer 2024.

Fleet and Workforce Growth to Meet Summer Demand

Brussels Airlines is set to expand its fleet to 50 aircraft, up from 44 in the summer of 2024. This includes the addition of four leased Airbus A220s from Air Baltic. To support the expanded schedule, the airline plans to hire over 370 new staff members, including 190 cabin crew, 50 pilots, and other essential personnel.
