New Access to Via Rápida From Carmo Area?
Câmara de Lobos may soon see a new via rápida connection, as announced by Miguel Albuquerque, the president of the Madeiran Government. This potential link was mentioned during the inauguration of several new streets, including Rua João Ricardo Ferreira César, in the Quinta do Serrado area.
Eventually, in the future, from the Carmo area we can make a new connection to the highway.
During the event, local mayor Leonel Silva highlighted ongoing infrastructure improvements, including a tunnel aimed at alleviating traffic between New City and Carmo Stadium, which is set for completion by the end of 2025.
Albuquerque then added that there are plans to create a new roadway venture from the Carmo area to the highway, stating, “Eventually, in the future, from the Carmo area we can make a new connection to the highway.”
