Flight Forced to Abandon Landing Due to Windshear
Today, EasyJet flight U21869 from Bordeaux was forced to abort its landing at Madeira Airport due to windshear. The Airbus A320 was descending towards the runway when the crew detected dangerous wind conditions just before touching down.
Pilots Execute Daring Last-Minute Emergency Maneuver Successfully
In response, the pilots carried out a go-around virtually in the last second, making a sharp right turn over the ramp to avoid the runway. The aircraft remained under control throughout the maneuver, and no injuries were reported. After the go-around, the flight safely landed on its second attempt.
