Estrada da Queimada Continues to Be Closed Due to Rockfall

Street is being cleared from debris and a time for reopening has been projected.

Street Scheduled to Reopen in 3 Weeks

Recurrent Rockfalls at Estrada da Queimada, close to Miraduro de Machico, causes the street to remain closed in January, due to recurring rockfall. The street is already closed since November 2023 and the work is supposed to be finished in 3 weeks, as projected by the city council. A video on YouTube shows significant damage to the street and heavy rocks on the pavement.
