Fnac, in collaboration with Entrajuda, has launched a solidarity campaign that invites people to donate used books until December 20. The campaign, themed "Give a used book and change a Christmas forever," aims to stock the libraries of 5,000 solidarity institutions during the holiday season.
The primary objective is to democratize access to cultural resources, promoting social inclusion and addressing cultural poverty.
A Collective Effort for Literacy and Inclusion
Participating Fnac stores are collecting donated books, which will be handed over to Entrajuda. Entrajuda will carefully screen and direct books in good condition to various solidarity institutions, providing new reading materials for those in need. This initiative not only promotes literacy but also supports social inclusion during the festive season.
Damaged books collected during the campaign will not go to waste. Through the "Paper for Food" campaign by Banco Alimentar, these books will be recycled, with the proceeds converted into food items. This unique approach ensures that even damaged books contribute to a noble cause, providing sustenance for those facing economic challenges.
Have any Books that you have read and that deserve a second life? Consider donating within the days before December 20!
