Christina Pedra, the Mayor of Funchal, has announced a six million euros investment in the city's road repavement. This initiative aims to enhance the overall infrastructure and ensure smoother and safer transportation for residents.

Inauguration Of The Rotunda João Dantas
In a tribute ceremony to João Dantas (*1932), the former president of Câmara de Lobos and president of the Funchal City Council, a new roundabout was inaugurated and named Rotunda João Dantas in his honor. The former Vitória roundabout, close to Cimentos Madeira, underwent a comprehensive revitalization, incurring a cost of 100 thousand euros. This included repavement, irrigation system installation, garden landscaping, and a luminous sign featuring the word "Funchal."
The Merits of João Dantas
João Dantas (PPD/PSD) received homage for his contributions, which included improving access to clean water, establishing parking facilities, acquiring more land for public squares and gardens, and constructing the Mercado da Penteada.
