IFCN Announces Reopening of Hiking Trails
Diário de NotÃcias Madeira reports that with depression Irene losing its grip on the island, the Institute of Forests and Nature Conservation (IFCN) has announced the reopening of Classified Pedestrian Routes and hiking trails. The decision to reopen comes with a strong emphasis on caution, as these routes are located in areas susceptible to intense climatic pressure and natural erosion.

Users are urged to exercise vigilance while traversing these paths, keeping an eye out for abnormal situations such as broken paths or fallen branches. In case of any issues encountered during the journey, users are encouraged to report them promptly to the IFCN via email at ifcn@madeira.gov. Please note that despite this announcement, the table that indicates previously closed routes, has not yet been updated.
