A new container ship is frequenting Madeira. The former RS Mistral and now-called Ilha da Madeira will be delivering goods between mainland Portugal and Madeira. The cargo vessel, built in 1999, replaces the old Ilha da Madeira, which has also been renamed and is now called Conmar Najade, built in 2007. Both ships are about the same size (about 127 meters long) and can fulfill similar tasks.
