Lobo Marinho Suspends Travel for 4 Weeks

The annual inspection requires Porto Santo Line to temporarily halt passenger travel until the completion of maintenance.

Vessel Now en Route to Caniçal

The Lobo Marinho Ferry, which operates the vital link between Porto Santo and Funchal, is set to temporarily cease its travel services for the next four weeks. The roll-on / roll-off vessel, built in 2003 and which can carry up to 1150 passengers, today returned to Funchal around 2:30 pm and is currently en route to Caniçal for its scheduled maintenance.

This annual maintenance check is crucial to ensure the vessel's safety and compliance with the necessary inspection measures. The ship is expected to resume its regular services after the completion of the maintenance period in February.

Inter-island flights Are an Alternative

In the meantime, passengers traveling to or from Porto Santo are able to use air travel. Inter-island flights connecting Madeira International Airport and Porto Santo Airport have a brief duration of approximately 25 minutes and operate daily.
