Madeira is experiencing an exceptional Easter week in cruise tourism, with 13 ships bringing over 27,000 cruise passengers.

An Exceptional Easter Week for Madeira’s Cruise Tourism

This Easter week is proving to be one of the busiest of the year for Madeira’s cruise tourism. According to the port authority APRAM, the Port of Funchal will receive a total of 13 cruise ships, bringing 27,601 people to Madeira - 22,952 of them passengers.

Today, four ships arrived in Funchal and Porto Santo, including the Balmoral, MSC Poesia, Norwegian Star, and Scenic Eclipse. Two more - Celebrity Apex and Star Pride - are due Sunday. The cruises connect Madeira with Europe, Africa, and South America.

Cruise Arrivals Fuel Local Business and Tourism in Madeira

Cruise ships continue to be a key part of Madeira’s tourism sector. The regular arrivals of large vessels bring a steady flow of visitors to local businesses, restaurants, and tours. With several ships also using Funchal as a starting or stopping point for crew and passenger changes, the port plays an important role in the logistics of international cruise lines.
