A tragic accident occurred moments ago on the via rápida towards Santa Cruz - Funchal in the Madeira Airport area, resulting in the death of a man whose age has not yet been determined. Update: Victim A 50 Year Old Madeiran Resident Of Foreign Nationality

As reported by RTP Madeira, the person that got run over is a 50-year-old who lives in Madeira and is of foreign nationality. He got hit by a VAN heading towards Machico - Ribeira Brava, before exiting for the airport. The driver of the van, a young man in his twenties, is in a state of shock and ha been transported to the hospital.

The driver of the car that this afternoon fatally ran over a man on the highway, in the Airport area, in Santa Cruz, was in a state of shock due to the accident and had to be transported to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.

The 21-year-old young man was transported to the Emergency Service in an ambulance from the Firefighters Sapadores de Santa Cruz.
