Teenagers Rescued By Locals And The Maritime Police
Few incidents have surfaced that display people (possibly unknowingly) neglecting the dangers of a rough sea and high waves at Praia Formosa, Funchal. JM-Madeira published a video that showed how a teenager was rescued and brought to shore by locals, while in the same scene, another individual required assistance.
The other individual was saved moments later by the Maritime Police. Bystanders were watching the scene in awe and were relieved when both lives were saved.
Two Other Individuals Seeking A Thrill in Strong Currents
Another video posted by Diário de NotÃcias Madeira displays how two individuals are seeking a thrill in strong currents, in an area of the beach that has high waves and most notably very strong currents. Both individuals were able to get back to the shore by themselves. As in the other cases, it was not possible to determine if the people in question were tourists or residents.
