Paulo Cafôfo Calls for Metro to Connect Funchal and Caniço
Paulo Cafôfo, the Socialist Party’s lead candidate in Madeira’s upcoming early elections, announced plans to study the construction of a metro between Funchal and Caniço. He explained that this project would contribute to public transportation in Madeira and offer a faster, more comfortable, and affordable way for residents to travel between the two cities.
Speaking at an event where his party’s electoral program was presented, Cafôfo said that many people in Caniço work in Funchal and need reliable transportation. He also emphasized that the metro would be environmentally friendly and reduce traffic congestion.
Caniço is a city with a large population center, a major city. Most of the people in Caniço work in Funchal, and we need to improve their quality of life. This means faster transportation, comfort, low cost, and environmentally friendly solutions
