Dead Female Body Discovered In São Vicente Most Likely Véronique Blond

This afternoon in São Vicente, a dead female body was found. Everything indicates that it is the missing French tourist, Véronique Blond (56), who disappeared on March 16th, together with her husband. The police confirmed the finding, though official identification awaits due to the state of decomposition. Nonetheless, the clothing suggests it's likely Véronique Blond. The police is having difficulties recovering the body and will do so tomorrow.

Foreign Tourist Finds Body And Alerts Emergencies

The Body was found by a foreign citizen who was walking the path of Fajã da Areia. He initially "noticed the smell" and later found the body before calling emergencies. According to sources, the body was found “near Caminho da Abelheira, but already more than 100 meters off the trail".

Investigation Into Cause Of Death

Police are at the scene, collecting evidence and photographs while searching for clues regarding what happened. Following the retrieval of the body by authorities, it will undergo an autopsy at the Institute of Legal Medicine to ascertain identification and determine the cause of death. The couple's daughters, residing in France, have been informed of the situation through the French Embassy.

Husband Remains Missing

Officials have not yet determined the whereabouts of the husband of Véronique Blond, Laurent Blond (58). Searches for the man's body are being postponed until tomorrow due to darkness.
