Liberal Initiative: Salaries In Madeira Must Improve!

Persistent low wages remain a significant challenge for Madeira, inflicting considerable economic repercussions on the autonomous region.

Upholding Work as a Path to Progress

The Liberal Initiative (IL) recently stressed the significance of work as a means to move forward in life. They believe that people should have the opportunity to improve their circumstances through their efforts. In this regard, the party has voiced concerns about the heavy burden of taxes, particularly when the state takes a large portion of any increase in income. According to them, this practice not only hampers individuals' ability to fully enjoy the rewards of their labor but also poses challenges to effective financial planning.

It must once again be possible to move up in life through work (…) it is unacceptable for the State to keep half of the increase in a salary from 900 euros to 1,000 euros gross.

Challenges of Taxation And Its Effects

The party argues that when the government overly focuses on taxing people's income, it discourages individuals from staying in their home country and pursuing career growth. They highlight how such taxation policies can act as barriers to professional advancement and may even lead to emigration in search of better opportunities elsewhere. Additionally, they express dissatisfaction with the lack of recognition for hard work and performance-based rewards within governmental structures.

This is the madness passed between us. The Government keeps the fruits of your work, your sweat, your time, your energy, your creativity, your ideas, your dedication, your commitment, your achievements , disproportionately, and then you don't know how to manage and spend well the money that it took you so much work to generate.
