TAP Transports Over 2,600 Passengers Daily on Madeira Routes

TAP Air Portugal announced it transported nearly one million passengers to and from Madeira in 2024, averaging nearly 2,700 people traveling to or from the island with TAP every day.

Nearly One Million Travelers Between Madeira and Mainland Portugal

In 2024, TAP Airlines transported 983,000 passengers between Madeira and mainland Portugal, a 3.3% increase compared to 2023. This accounts to 2,693 passengers per day who are either arriving or leaving Madeira with TAP Airlines.

Over 16 Million Passengers Carried Worldwide

TAP recorded a total of 16.1 million passengers in 2024, an increase of 1.6% compared to the previous year. North American routes saw the highest growth, with 1.59 million passengers flying between Portugal and the United States or Canada, an 8.9% rise from 2023. The airline also achieved a historic milestone on its Brazil-Europe routes, carrying more than two million passengers, a 7.1% increase over the previous year.

Mixed Results Across Other Regions

Passenger numbers for flights to the Azores grew by 1.3%, totaling 527,000, while routes to Africa saw a slight decline of 0.1%, with 1.1 million passengers. European routes, excluding Portugal, saw modest growth of 0.9%, reaching 8.8 million passengers. The airline reported an 82.3% load factor, up 1.5 percentage points from 2023, and a 3.4% increase in revenue per seat, demonstrating improved efficiency and financial performance.
