In a devastating road accident, two teenagers lost their lives following a motorcycle crash inside the Quinta Grande tunnel. The accident took place this afternoon, as the motorcycle they were riding veered off course, violently projecting them approximately 100 meters down the tunnel.

The young teenage couple who crashed this afternoon in the Quinta Grande tunnel, on the expressway, did not survive their injuries and passed away. The victims are a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl.

Victims Identified as 17-Year-Old Boy and 16-Year-Old Girl

The victims, identified as a 17-year-old male and a 16-year-old female, were found in critical condition by emergency responders. They were swiftly transported to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital for medical treatment. Unfortunately, despite efforts from the hospital staff, both succumbed to their injuries shortly after arriving.

Speed Likely a Factor According to Witnesses

Initial investigations suggest that excessive speed may have played a role in the tragic crash. Witnesses reported that the motorcycle appeared to be traveling at a very high speed before the rider lost control and struck the tunnel walls.
