Watch Classic Cars Cruise Through Funchal
The Madeira Flower Classic Auto Parade is a long-running event that captures the vibe of old-fashioned parades from the 1980s. It's run by two groups: the Classic Motor Exhibition Association and Clube Carocha da Madeira and returns tomorrow as part of the island's renowned Flower Festival. More than 200 classic cars and, for the first time this year, 10 bicycles, will wind their way through Funchal's main avenue, Avenida do Mar e das Comunidades Madeirenses.
The Parade Starts At 16h30
The parade kicks off on Sundaz May 12th at 16h30, starting near the roundabout on Avenida Sá Carneiro. Spectators can catch a glimpse of the motorized and pedal-powered procession along the route, which loops around Praça da Autonomia before ending again at Avenida Sá Carneiro where the cars will be on display until 18h30. The event is free, expect downtown Funchal to be packed and streets close to the parade to be inaccessible. Enjoy the show!
