Madeira Islands have been awarded the World's Leading Island Destination at the 30th edition of the World Travel Awards. The announcement was made during a ceremony held at Burj Al Arab Jumeirah in Dubai.

Succeeding Bali, Indonesia in 2015, the tile has been won for the 9th consecutive time. A stunning achievement that remains unprecedented.

Madeira also considered Best Island Destination in Europe

On September 29th, Madeira also received the award for Best Island Destination in Europe at the European edition of the World Travel Awards.

The World Travel Awards, established in 1993, are given annually to recognize and celebrate excellence in the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries.

They are highly regarded and prestigious accolades, and the winners are chosen through online voting by the public and tourism professionals.
